Spores of a shield dapperling mushroom (Lepiota clypeolaria) collected earlier 8/2/2024 in Tarkhovka Park, west from Saint Petersburg, Russia, August 23, 2024Observations of Lepiota clypeolaria were made in various locations in Leningrad Oblast and north-western Russia. The fungus was found in Lindulovskaya Larch Grove, Sosnovka Park, near Kavgolovo Lake, Blizhnie Dubki area, Pavlovsk Park, Tarkhovka Park, and a forest east of Platform 46 km near Semrino. The observations were made between August 2016 and August 2024. The fungus was often found under dense trees, such as spruce, and in areas with rich vegetation. Some observations noted the texture of the cap and the underside of the mushroom, while others recorded the presence of other mushroom species, like Clitocybe gibba, growing alongside Lepiota clypeolaria. Spores of the fungus were also collected and examined on August 23, 2024.
